Mr Kaune is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of E.ON Slovensko, a.s. Prior to this position, he was the Member of the Supervisory Board of Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. from 2016 to June 2020 as well as the Senior Vice President Energy Networks, E.ON SE, Essen from 2017 to 2020.
Mr Kaune joined E.ON Energie AG in Munich as a lawyer, Legal and M&A-division in 2005. During this time in 2003/2004, he became a member of the post-acquisition integration project team at Západoslovenská energetika a.s., Bratislava. Between 2005 and 2008 he was Senior Vice President Central Functions, E.ON Bulgaria EAD.
From 2008 and 2011 he was the Vice President Portfolio Development and Central Eastern Europe, E.ON Energie AG, Munich as well as Member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON Bulgaria EAD, member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON Bulgaria Grid AD and member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON Bulgaria Sales AD. Later on between 2011 and 2016 he held the position as Vice President Energy Networks, E.ON SE, Düsseldorf/ Essen.
Mr Kaune has a degree in law from Ruhruniversität Bochum in Germany and from Rijksuniversiteit Leiden in the Netherlands.
The call is open to react to the national Recovery and Resilience Plans, as put forth earlier from the viewpoints of key economic actors, with an emphasis on private enterprise, investment and their leading role in buttressing the recovery from the ground-up. Are the plans presented fit to not only jumpstart the European economy but also strategically place it on the path to long-term economic prosperity? How can different actors adapt for more resilience and position themselves for success in the post-pandemic world?
