IDEAS SHAPING THE WORLD
The COVID-19 pandemic accentuated the need for the international community to come together to resolve unprecedented global health and economic crisis. It also revealed how fragmented and uncertain the world has become.

The world is at a turning point. While the COVID-19 crisis has created multiple challenges for our societies, economies and systems, it has also shown that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things if they are led by solidarity and compassion. To achieve a sustainable recovery in the post COVID-19 world, the relationship between citizens and governments has to be built on people’s trust in their institutions. People need to know that they are protected and are not lied to. What is more they have to know that their leaders are the guardians of the values of democracy, the rule of law and respect for fundamental rights. How can Slovakia contribute to building responsible leadership worldwide beyond COVID-19 times?
